Dogtra Batteries Not Holding A Charge As Long As They Used To
In rare occasions a Dogtra product may stop holding a charge for as long as it did in the past.
Sometimes this can be resolved by completely draining the batteries of both the receiver and the transmitter and then recharging them.
This is possible on Dogtra products that have an LCD screen on the transmitter (remote). It is not possible on collars that come with a transmitter that does not have an LCD screen.
If the problem has occurred in a Dogtra product that does not have an LCD screen on the transmitter please contact repair@dogtra.com to inquire about the best solution for you.
Here are the steps to drain the batteries completely:
- Turn on the transmitter so the LCD screen is on
- Turn on the receiver
- Allow the two items to remain on so the battery will completely drain. This can take up to two days
- Recharge the product as per usual
If your product still does not hold the charge it may be time for a replacement battery or servicing. If your product is under 1 year old, please contact repair@dogtra.com
If during this process you need to borrow a Dogtra collar to keep your pet happy, please contact Pet Fence Canada. Our rental program is available to anyone and is complimentary to customers who have purchased through us.
